Professor Chih-Hsin Yang is Associate Director of Department of Oncology, NTUH and serves as Adjunct Professor of Graduate Institute of Oncology, Graduate Institute of Clinical Medicine and Graduate Institute of Clinical Pharmacy, NTU. The major research fields of Dr. Yang are lung cancer clinical research and the mechanism of drug resistance of cancer cells. Dr. Yang has executed many clinical trials for lung cancer in Taiwan, which have been published in famous international journals, such as the New England Journal of Medicine, the Journal of Clinical Oncology, the Journal of Thoracic Oncology, etc. Dr. Yang has been awarded many grants from NSC and NHRI. In addition, he has collaborated with many cross country pharmaceutical companies and implemented international multi-center clinical trials, and thus he has enhanced the world recognition of Taiwan in cancer research. In light of the excellent achievements of Taiwanese lung cancer research group, Dr. Yang has been invited to participate in the planning of large-scale European and American international clinical trials and to give lectures in conferences and at American cancer centers; he has been invited to lecture overseas more than 80 times. The clinical trial of the second generation EGFR-TKI for lung cancer conducted by the research group of Prof. Yang is in the leading position in the world. Hence he has often been invited to review papers for the New England Journal of Medicine, the Journal of Clinical Oncology, Cancer Research and is the editor of Journal of Thoracic Oncology.
